Job Type: Full Time PermanentKey Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks for a wide range of custom metalwork and structural components
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, take accurate measurements, and ensure design feasibility
- Collaborate closely with other design engineers and departments to share ideas, ensure consistency, and resolve design challenges
- Interpret client specifications, technical documentation, and project briefs to deliver clear, accurate, and timely design packages
- Assist with the development of design standards and templates to improve efficiency and consistency
- Provide technical support to fabrication and workshop teams during production
- Revise and update drawings as required throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, safety guidelines, and quality requirements
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential
- Previous experience in a fabrication, metalwork, or manufacturing environment is desirable
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings and documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills - a collaborative approach is key
- Willingness to attend client sites for measurements and assessments
