- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing anaesthesia in accordance with NMBI standards and hospital policies.
- Assist the Anaesthetist in the preparation and administration of anaesthesia.
- Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment, medications, and monitoring devices prior to procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition before, during, and after anaesthesia.
- Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient condition, including emergency situations.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative journey.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and maintain a sterile environment.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary theatre team to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Participate in handovers, safety briefings, and clinical governance activities.
- Support and supervise junior staff and students as required.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement, audits, and professional development activities.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or an equivalent regulatory body.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience in an acute care nursing setting (essential).
- Proven experience in anaesthetic nursing, with up-to-date knowledge of current practices (essential).
