- Collaborate with teams to proactively identify and evaluate risks associated with railway engineering maintenance, projects, occupational health and safety.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard project success.
- Provide expertise in quantitative and qualitative risk analysis methodologies.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and effective risk management within the department.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that could impact engineering maintenance/projects, such as safety, technical, financial, or regulatory risks.
- Evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
- Gather and analyse data related to risks, including historical data, industry benchmarks, and market trends.
- Develop and use mathematical models to simulate various risk scenarios and assess their potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Maintain comprehensive records of risk assessments, mitigation plans, and ongoing risk monitoring activities.
- Prepare and present risk reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommended actions.
- Continuously monitor progress and external factor that may affect risk levels, and update risk assessments accordingly.
- Assist in the development of contingency plans to address unforeseen events or emergencies.
- Ensure that risk management activities adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Provide data-driven insights to assist in decision-making processes related to project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Educate team members about risk management best practices and promote a culture of risk awareness within the engineering department.
- Contribute to the improvement of risk management processes and tools based on lessons learned.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to address andmitigate risks.
- Qualification and experience and demonstrable expertise in area of Risk assessment and risk management .
- Technical knowledge and experience in heavy industry

- Understanding of the regulatory environment and application of systems such as CSM Risk
- Prior use of various risk assessment methods such as Bow tie, Zonal Hazard analysis, FMEA, Fault tree etc.
- 5 years' experience in Risk role, using various methods of quantitative analysis
- Understanding of railway operations
- Knowledge of railway vehicles and components design
- Traction and Rolling Stock maintenance and overhaul knowledge / experience.
- An understanding of the technologies and environment associated with rail transportation.
- Good understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of system risk.
- Knowledge of railway standards and appropriate industry standards relevant to railway industry. Such as: CSM REA, ISO 12100, RAMS
- Interest in statistics, identifying patterns and trends in data
