Location: LaoisOur client, a country house hotel is seeking to hire a front office supervisor, the purpose of this role isto ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the front office, delivering a warm, professional welcome and an excellent standard of guest service. This role combines hands-on reception duties with supervisory responsibilities, supporting the management team in leading the front office staff and ensuring high standards of presentation, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
- Greet, check-in, and check-out guests in a professional, courteous manner.
- Handle reservations, cancellations, and amendments efficiently (via phone, email, or booking systems).
- Manage guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests with discretion and prompt resolution.
- Ensure front desk area is well-presented, welcoming, and organised at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and guest information.
- Oversee daily front office operations, ensuring adherence to hotel standards and procedures.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to reception team members.
- Assist in scheduling, rota management, and delegation of tasks.
- Monitor workload to ensure efficient service during peak and quiet times.
- Handle cash, card transactions, and billing with accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, data protection, and GDPR policies.
- Maintain awareness of hotel promotions, local attractions, and events to enhance guest experience.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or front office role within a hotel environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in hotel booking systems - Hotsoft is an advantage
- Competent with Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Flexibility to work shifts
