Position OverviewAn exciting opportunity is available for an Assistant Technical Manager to support the management of quality operations within a busy food production and packing environment. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining and improving food safety and quality standards.The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure compliance with industry standards including TFMS, BRC, HACCP, and other food safety and quality systems.Key Responsibilities:

Support the Technical Manager in maintaining food safety and quality standards including TFMS, BRC, and HACCP.
Supervise QC/QA staff and oversee daily quality control activities.
Plan and organise departmental workload in line with production schedules.
Provide technical and quality support to production teams.
Identify, report, and resolve quality or food safety non-conformances.
Maintain accurate quality documentation and traceability records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and HACCP systems.
Manage supplier non-conformances and corrective actions.
Ensure the site remains audit ready at all times.
Carry out additional duties as required to support department operations.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a technical or quality role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and food safety standards.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Full Driving Licence (required)
Authorised to work in Ireland
