The role requires strong technical expertise, curiosity and the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead high-impact technical projects with strategic impact from design through to delivery.
- Develop, validate and deploy machine learning models and analytical solutions, with a focus on interpretability and business impact.
- Collaborate with business partners to apply analytics to business problems.
- Mentor and guide other data scientists.
- Manage multiple complex projects and communicate progress effectively.
- Understand market dynamics and deliver actionable insights.
- 2+ years in a data science role.
- Strong applied knowledge of statistical techniques (tree-based models, GLMs, clustering, interpretability techniques, neural networks).
- Good working knowledge of MLOps practices (version control, reproducibility, model deployment and monitoring).
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools and applications is desirable.
- Proficient in Python and associated data science libraries.
- Experience with large datasets and enterprise-scale databases.
- Understanding of insurance principles is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and adapt to changing challenges.
- Commitment to data quality and best practice.
- Analytical thinking and the ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.
