Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major Dublin transport project.This transformative infrastructure scheme is a key element of the Government’s transport and climate policy, providing enhanced bus, cycle, and pedestrian infrastructure to support sustainable travel and reduce car dependency.The works will be delivered in a live urban environment and will integrate civil engineering, utilities, road widening, public realm enhancements, and sustainable transport infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to be part of one of Ireland’s most significant infrastructure investments, with a long-term pipeline of works through to 2030.Salary & Benefits

Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial management of large-scale civil infrastructure works
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Oversee procurement and tendering for subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Negotiate and manage contract terms, variations, and claims in line with company procedures
  • Monitor project expenditure, identify risks, and implement cost-control measures
  • Liaise closely with site teams, engineers, client representatives, and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records, valuations, progress claims, and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and statutory requirements
  • Provide commercial guidance and mentoring to junior team members
  • Support the Project Manager in delivering works on time and within budget
Requirements
  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field
  • 8+ years’ experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil contractor, ideally in the Irish or UK market
  • Strong background in major civil infrastructure projects, ideally in urban environments
  • Experience with Public Works or NEC forms of contract highly desirable
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work packages in a complex live city environment
  • Full Irish driver’s licence
  • Irish/UK market experience highly advantageous
