- Support the preparation of monthly group management accounts and contribute to periodic forecasting and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for group entities and provide support throughout the end‑to‑end group budgeting process.
- Support Group Accounts Payable activities, including supplier reconciliations and payment processing.
- Assist with year‑end statutory accounts preparation, audit coordination, and tax compliance requirements.
- Provide support on technical accounting queries, financial reporting matters, and ongoing accounting issues across the group.
- Take a lead role in the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks, financial controls, and group policies as Blackrock Healthcare Group continues to grow.
- Coordinate and collate Board reporting submissions from each trading division, working closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery ahead of Board meetings.
- Deliver insightful weekly and monthly financial reporting, highlighting key variances against budget and prior year, to support informed decision‑making by the Board and senior management.
- Contribute to group‑wide systems improvement and finance transformation initiatives, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of modern financial and business technology.
- Coordinate the collation and review of information for full‑year financial forecasting across Blackrock Healthcare Group.
- Participate in ad hoc finance projects and systems‑related initiatives as required.
- Provide support to Group Procurement activities, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Support the wider Group Finance function with administrative and operational finance duties as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement to manage responsibilities effectively.
- Proven time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- High level of attention to detail, with a strong commitment to delivering accurate work to a consistently high professional standard.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing positively to group objectives and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Experience with accounting systems and data analytics tools is desirable.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including a willingness to work outside of normal business hours when required to meet business or reporting deadlines.
- Experience within the healthcare sector is advantageous but not essential.
- The role is primarily based at Group Head Office; however, regular travel to hospitals and other group locations is required.
- A recognised professional accounting qualification or working towards qualification.
- A third‑level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ relevant post‑graduate experience in a financial accounting or similar role, gained in industry, practice, or a combination of both.
- Experience in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Experience using accounting systems and strong Excel skills; exposure to data analytics or reporting tools is advantageous.
