Our client, a respected and long-established building contractor, is currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their expanding team in the Dublin/Eastern region. This is a key site-based role supporting the safe delivery of a variety of construction projects across both public and private sectors.This opportunity will suit a degree-qualified safety professional with experience in the construction industry who is looking to further their career within a reputable and forward-thinking organisation.About the Role:Working closely with the site and project leadership teams—including Project Managers and Senior Site Management—you will be actively involved in supporting, guiding, and monitoring health and safety practices across live construction sites. You will also receive mentorship and support from a regional SHEQ Manager and benefit from the company’s well-established safety systems and independent site audits.Project Scope Includes:Commercial and industrial developmentsResidential and mixed-use schemesEducational and civic buildingsRefurbishment and heritage projectsDesign & Build and traditional construction modelsKey Responsibilities:Promote a culture of safety-first across all project teams and subcontractorsConduct regular site safety inspections and auditsIdentify and report risks, hazards, and unsafe practices, ensuring corrective action is takenAssist in the development of health & safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements, and safety statementsParticipate in safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety performanceSupport the SHEQ Manager with training assessments and ongoing safety education initiativesStay up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, and assist in applying them on siteMaintain accurate health and safety records in line with company policyCandidate Requirements:A recognised qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., Degree, Higher Diploma, or equivalent)Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar H&S role, ideally within a construction environmentStrong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and site compliance proceduresFamiliarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and safety certification schemes (e.g., Safe-T-Cert)Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence positive changeExcellent communication and report writing skillsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant reporting softwareWhat’s on Offer:Opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of projectsStructured support and guidance from senior health & safety professionalsA collaborative work environment with a genuine focus on employee developmentCompetitive salary and benefits package
