Accounts Assistant – Grade IV(Specified Purpose contract, Full time)Salary ScaleGrade 4: €36,109 – €55,463 (pro‑rata, per approved HSE/SJOG scale)LocationCommunity Mental Health Services (CMH) or HQ StillorganReporting ToRegional Finance Officer / Finance ManagerPurpose of the RoleThe Accounts Assistant will support the Finance function within Community Mental Health Services by carrying out day‑to‑day accounting duties, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and supporting month‑end processes up to trial balance level. The role also involves providing ad‑hoc financial and administrative support as required.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable (AP)
  • Processing supplier invoices in line with procurement and governance requirements
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving invoice queries
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and maintaining supplier account records
Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Raising sales invoices and ensuring accurate coding
  • Monitoring debtor balances and following up on outstanding receivables
  • Liaising with internal services regarding income queries
Banking & Reconciliations
  • Preparing and maintaining regular bank reconciliations
  • Investigating and resolving reconciling items
  • Supporting cashflow and banking controls in line with internal procedures
Month‑End & Reporting Support
  • Preparing journals (prepayments, accruals, corrections)
  • Supporting reconciliations of balance sheet control accounts
  • Assisting with month‑end close up to trial balance level
  • Providing information to support audits and internal reviews
Ad‑Hoc & General Duties
  • Supporting payroll, expenses, and finance administration as required
  • Assisting with audits, reporting, and finance projects
  • Providing cover within the Finance team during periods of absence
  • Any other duties appropriate to the Grade 4 role, as assigned
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant experience in an accounts or finance role
  • Practical experience in AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
  • Ability to work accurately with financial data and meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
