Health Care Assistant This work experience programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. • The participant will gain practical experience hands on with patient care, assisting patients in a health care environment. You will be trained to assist care duties and tasks, detailed in the individual care plan for the client. • Trained in assisting clients with all personal care: toileting, washing, dressing etc. • Trained in assisting in practical support such as house cleaning; cooking; dish washing; etc. • Ensuring clients are provided with refreshments and light snacks, as required • Trained in promoting independence and choice where possible. • Upholding client's rights and preserving their dignity,Role Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
