An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join its Supply Chain team. This is a key role within the operation, responsible for ensuring efficient production scheduling, accurate inventory management, and on-time customer deliveries.If you are highly organised, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this opportunity offers strong exposure across Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance.The RoleThe Production Planner will develop and manage the master production schedule, balancing customer demand, production capacity, raw material availability, and quality requirements. You will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and supporting profitable plant performance.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain the master production schedule, establishing production sequence and lead timesEnsure customer shipping dates are met in line with order requirementsUpdate and manage work orders within 24 business hoursLiaise daily with Operations to monitor production progress and resolve scheduling issuesWork closely with Quality to verify formulas, batch sizes, and compliance requirementsGenerate daily raw material pull sheets for productionRaise purchase requisitions for raw materials and packaging materialsMonitor and maintain packaging inventory levelsCoordinate with Purchasing and Accounting to ensure accurate inventory postingsConduct cycle counts of raw materials and finished goodsSupport annual physical inventory and assist with internal audit processesReview completed production batches to ensure yield accuracy and proper inventory movementMaintain compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, Sanitation, and Food Defense standardsSkills & Experience RequiredPrevious experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Inventory Control within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of demand planning and forecasting principlesExcellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh level of attention to detail and organisational abilityStrong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyProficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systemsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic manufacturing operation where your planning expertise will directly impact performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
