They will be responsible for carrying out and documenting conservation treatment, developing and prioritising the conservation workflow of the project in collaboration with the Chief Conservator and Conservation Project Manager and the rest of the Arab and Islamic Manuscripts project team. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop her/his professional career through research and publication. They will be expected to work both independently and within a team, and to effectively manage their workflow. The post-holder will be responsible for reporting on project milestones and will work closely with the associated subject specialist and photographer.Post status: Specific Purpose Contract
The Arab and Islamic Manuscripts Project is a specific project to digitize Library collection material and make it available. The post is to carry out the specialist conservation of agreed material to enable digitisation and general support of the project.*
This appointment is for the specific purpose of carrying out the specialist conservation of agreed material to enable digitisation and general support of 'The Arab and Islamic Manuscripts Project'. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis, as your role is tied to these specific activities which are expected to be completed within a defined period. The activities for your role are funded by an Anonymous donor and are not part of the core university funding. Therefore, termination of this contract will occur upon completion of the work in which you are engaged, or if the funding stream is terminated or withdrawn by the funding agency.
