Full-time | PermanentAbout the OpportunityPerform Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Quality Technical Manager.This is a key leadership role within a growing business supplying high-quality fresh produce to retail, food service, and export markets. The successful candidate will take ownership of the Quality and Technical function, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.The RoleAs Quality Technical Manager, you will lead the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with Irish, UK, and EU food safety regulations and industry standards, including BRCGS, HACCP, and GLOBALG.A.P.You will play a critical role in driving food safety culture, maintaining robust systems, and ensuring product quality, legality, and consistency across all operations.Key Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure full compliance with all food safety legislation and certification standards (BRCGS, HACCP, GLOBALG.A.P., etc.)
- Drive a strong culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the business
- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits
- Manage and investigate quality incidents, including root cause analysis and CAPA implementation
- Oversee supplier approval, audits, and performance monitoring systems
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs, specifications, and technical documentation
- Monitor KPIs and implement improvement initiatives across quality and technical functions
- Lead traceability systems, HACCP programmes, and internal audit processes
- Collaborate with production, NPD, and operational teams to ensure product quality and compliance
- Deliver training and coaching to ensure food safety standards are understood and implemented across all departments
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance
- Degree in Food Science, Horticulture, or related discipline
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a Food Safety / Quality role within FMCG or fresh produce
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards and audit requirements
- Solid understanding of HACCP and food safety legislation
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams
- Proficient in MS Office and general IT systems
- Internal Auditor certification is an advantage
