
Sr. Product Strategic Manager

- Collaborates with marketing, R&D and commercial to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy in support of optimal placement and pricing for current and future portfolio (building value story for the healthy snacking space).
- Works regularly with planning and operations teams as needed to ensure optimal product mix and to balance output and inventory (in consultation with commercial team for prioritization). Includes SKU rationalization, specifications review and managing base material requirements destined for value-add product streams.
- Provide direction and project leadership for mid and long-term product strategies with internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations, R&D).
- Acts as liaison for internal customers (PSM, sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations) for day-to-day product related strategies.
- Vets new global market opportunities (technologies, expansions, partnerships, etc.) identified by the core team and provides recommendations.
- Help develop a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, influencing and sharing real experiences.
- Provide dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members driving our core values.
- Supports Capex process (build and rationalize technology platforms for assets).
- Contributes to Market Research (supply/demand analysis, competitive landscape, global dairy situation and outlook, pricing forecasts).
- Manages margin and pricing targets across portfolio for the region.
- In collaboration with Marketing, develops a plan for promotion and market penetration.
- Provides sales training where needed.
- Participates in joint customer calls with sales as the product/market expert.
- Accelerates the sales process through execution of product strategy (strong product positioning and stewardship, optimizing/driving revenue and improving net margins impacting bottom line). Maintains opportunity pipeline for new markets.
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree (Preferred Masters or MBA), preferably in a scientific background (Food Science, Nutrition Science).
- At least 7-10 years related experience with food ingredients, preferably with nutritional ingredients.
- Must be experienced in a business development, product management, or similar commercial / marketing role.
- Experience in IP management and strategic development and marketing in sports and lifestyle segment a definite plus.
- Must show interpersonal communication and relationship building skills and a proved record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with co-workers, management, internal and external customers including excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Effective collaborator able to work in project teams and across changing structures within a high-growth business.
- Effective organizational skills in scoping projects tracking projects etc.
- Must be oriented toward accomplishment of team goals and results focused.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem solving skills
- Excellent content development skills including ability to craft visual and/or written narratives
- Ability to persuade.
- Must be a strategic thinker, highly analytical, with good problem solving skills and comfortable with assessing market/business opportunities understanding statistics.
