Beechfield Care Group are currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our leading nursing home, St Gabriel's Nursing Home, Raheny, Co Dublin.The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing housekeeping and cleaning operations at our nursing home, managing both the Housekeeping and Laundry team members. The working hours will be varied according to the home needs and will require occasional weekend work. This is a full time 40hrs position.About St Gabriel's: St. Gabriels Nursing Home provides homely environment with ample spaces for a stroll or just a quiet time for reading or a chat with visitors; it has 58 single en-suite bedrooms and 4-ensuite double rooms expanding over two floors, 2 large day lounges, fully ventilated smoking room, 2 dining rooms, chapel, hairdressing salon, conservatory, visitors’ room, activity room and 3 beautiful internal secured gardens all with seating areas provided. There is also an in-house laundry services and a lift.The ideal candidate will possess the following:· Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.· Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.· Coordinates work activities among departments.· Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.· Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.· Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.· Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.· Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.· Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and resident complaints (if any).· Issues supplies and equipment to housekeeping team.· Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team· Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes· Strong organisation and planning skills to ensure that staffing is adequate across the home & supplies are kept in order and replaced on units as required· Team player and able to work with management and staff· Visible and credible leader who can lead by exampleGreat benefits on offer:
