If you are aged between 21 and 55 years In general, you must be unemployed and in receipt of a DSP payments for at least 12 months e.g. Jobseeker's Benefit/Jobseeker's Allowance/ Jobseeker's Transitional payment/One-Parent Family Payment/Disability Allowance (18 years), Blind Pension, Invalidity Pension, etc. If you are aged 21 and over, and are getting JB or JA, you can have worked up to 30 days in the 12 months before starting the CE scheme You are required to work 19.5 hrs per week. No experience/ training and or qualification are required as they will be provided on your CE Scheme. Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups.
