- Lead and be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of credit and assurance reviews in line with the RAV's Board-approved assurance plan.
- Proactively manage priorities, resources and dependencies to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of credit reviews.
- Role-model disciplined execution, rigorous and evidence-based challenge, and clear ownership of outcomes.
- Provide independent second-line challenge over:
- credit decisioning and governance,
- adherence to Group Credit Policy and risk appetite,
- quality of underwriting, monitoring and escalation,
- application of IFRS 9 staging and ECL judgement where relevant.
- Act as a senior RAV point of contact for Capital Markets, Climate Capital and Risk stakeholders (amongst others).
- Present clear insights and issues to senior management and governance forums.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing credit review team through regular feedback, coaching and performance conversations.
- Create an inclusive, psychologically safe environment that encourages challenge and high standards.
- Role-model AIB Values and behaviours, promoting integrity, accountability and transparency.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, ideally in a second line, oversight, assurance or audit context.
- Sound understanding of credit governance, policy frameworks and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders, providing credible and constructive challenge.
- Experience with IFRS 9, model risk, RDARR or BCBS 239 related topics is desirable but not a minimum requirement.
- Professional qualification in a relevant discipline (or working towards one) is desirable.
