Job Introduction Commis Chef Job Purpose: To assist the Head Chef/Sous Chef with the preparation of meals to the company's standard and client's satisfaction, maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to the required standard. To provide training for all members of the food production team. Core Duties To assist in the preparation and presentation of all meals services at the required times to the company's standard and client satisfaction. To ensure the company and statutory regulations pertaining to the safety and hygiene operation of the kitchen and ancillary areas are adhered to by all members of staff, and visitors in the absence of the management. To ensure the correct methods of preparation production and presentation of all food. To assist the management with planning menus, rotas, orders and checking and receiving deliveries in the absence of the stores person. To ensure that all areas under your control are left clean and tidy. To assist with cleaning as necessary. To ensure that the Unit's stores and utensils and other areas are secured after services. To assist with merchandising To provide appropriate training for all members of staff under your control. To ensure that all members of staff under your control are aware of matters affecting their job. Additional Ad Hoc Duties To assist at special functions some of which may occasionally occur outside normal working hours. To report any customer complaints or compliments to a member of the management team. To report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities.
