Job Type: Full-time | PermanentEssential Requirements
  • EU or UK citizenship or existing right to work in Ireland
  • Recognised trade qualification as an HGV / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working on HGV trucks
  • Proven experience working on Scania vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding experience
  • Experience using manufacturer diagnostic systems
  • Good level of English, both written and spoken
  • Full HGV driving licence (Category C or CE preferred)
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Scania HGV Truck Mechanic to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Roscommon. This role is suited to a skilled technician who takes pride in high standards of workmanship and is confident working independently within a structured workshop environment.You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing Scania heavy goods vehicles to manufacturer standards while ensuring efficiency, safety, and accuracy in all tasks.Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing and repairs in line with Scania manufacturer standards
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Complete work as outlined on job cards accurately and efficiently
  • Liaise with the parts department to ensure timely access to required components
  • Inform the workshop foreman or manager if additional work is required
  • Conduct road testing to ensure vehicles are safe and fully operational before release
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Attend internal and manufacturer training as required
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified HGV Technician with relevant trade certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with heavy goods vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of Scania systems and diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
