About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Senior accountant - Statutory Compliance to join the Statutory Reporting team to support our multi country statutory compliance responsibilities including the preparation of financial statements and audits. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of dual books accounting in NetSuite (our ERP system) to support and bridge the differences between US GAAP / IFRS and local GAAP requirements and other process improvementsResponsibilities
The successful candidate's responsibilities will involve working closely with and supporting the Senior manager- Statutory Compliance, Accounting and Tax across several areas:Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Own the statutory reporting for defined legal entities
- Manage, coordinate and complete the smooth delivery of global financial statement close process and all required statutory reporting compliance for multiple entities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements in advance of audit commencing, including analytical reviews for income statement and balance sheet for multiple entities
- Support the audit processes over multiple jurisdictions, working with the external audit teams, providing high quality information, ensuring the audits are completed on time and with ever-reducing number of audit differences
- Prepare audit ready balance sheet reconciliations with detailed insight e.g. statutory timing differences, between US GAAP to local GAAP
- Coordinate and review the activities that are performed centrally and by external providers' local offices
- Own and maintain internal and external reporting dashboards to demonstrate progress of activities
- Drive the automation of foreign statutory entity reporting
- Support the review of new IFRS requirements and/or regulatory issues and recommend how the business should prepare to meet them
- Monitor, assess and interpret technical accounting developments within each jurisdiction and work with Director of Technical Accounting with respect to addressing potential impacts to relevant financials
- Support ad hoc analysis as required by the Global teams, including Senior Management, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Legal and HR
- Support the deployment of NetSuite Multi-Book for statutory reporting purposes; help identify gaps and test system functionality as needed.
- Big 4 experience would be an advantage (PwC, KPMG, Deloitte or EY)
- 4+ years post qualified experience
- Software industry knowledge is preferred S
- Knowledge of IP accounting and Transfer Pricing
- Experience of implementing process improvements
- Ideally has experience of an ERP roll out or significant upgrade
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Experience with complex consolidations in a multinational company environment, including working together with international colleagues
- Excellent user knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced excel skills
- Self-motivated, aspirational, and result oriented
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with NetSuite Multi-Book
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA or non-UK equivalent)
