Contracts Manager – Tier 1 Building ContractorOptimizer Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Tier 1 building contractor with an extensive portfolio across residential, commercial, heritage, retail, and large‑scale development projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their senior leadership team.As Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed on programme, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.Key responsibilities include:

Managing full project lifecycles to ensure timely handover or phased handover.
Overseeing and promoting safety on all sites, liaising closely with the Safety Manager and ensuring full compliance with H&S regulations and internal EHS systems.
Preparing, issuing, and tracking construction programmes; collaborating with the Design Team and Project Manager to communicate programme updates and variations.
Representing the company at site meetings and producing high‑quality Contractor and Progress Reports.
Monitoring workmanship quality and ensuring full compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and best building practice.
Working with the Contracts Director to allocate resources and staff projects effectively.
Ensuring accurate and complete site documentation, including diaries, allocation sheets, and Advice Forms.
Providing weekly project reports to the senior leadership team and ensuring adherence to company systems and procedures.
Coordinating with the Contracts Director, Purchasing Manager, QS team, and Head Office to ensure timely provision of reports, information, and essential project services.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

A Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years’ experience in senior management roles, including at least 3 years as a Contracts Manager within a main contractor environment.
Strong leadership capabilities with proven negotiation, communication, and team management skills.
Technical expertise in interpreting drawings, specifications, and detailed works requirements.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
