Are you the right person for the job?You’re a driven, technically strong Electrical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and a proven track record in HV/MV substation delivery and project management.You’ll bring:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline (Level 8 minimum)
  • 10–15 years’ experience in HV/MV infrastructure and at least 5 years in project or design management
  • A strong background in substation projects, ideally supporting wind, solar, or battery storage
  • The ability to manage designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams effectively
  • In-depth knowledge of grid codes, connection agreements, and protection schemes
  • A flexible, organised approach and willingness to travel nationally to oversee projects
What will your role look like?As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in both the technical design and project management of HV/MV substation and grid connection projects — ensuring every stage runs smoothly from concept to completion.Your day-to-day will include:
  • Leading the design, planning, and delivery of HV/MV substation and grid connection projects (up to 38kV)
  • Developing and managing project plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Ensuring compliance with all technical, contractual, and safety requirements
  • Coordinating with designers, suppliers, and contractors to achieve engineering excellence
  • Liaising with renewable developers, ESB, and key stakeholders to secure approvals and grid connections
  • Providing technical leadership on switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
  • Managing project risks, procurement, and reporting
  • Championing innovation, digital tools, and sustainability across all projects
