- Review and interpret client specifications, single line diagrams, and project requirements.
- Design low voltage switchgear assemblies in accordance with IEC standards (e.g., IEC 61439).
- Develop complete electrical schematic drawings using EPLAN (or equivalent software).
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings in coordination with Mechanical Design.
- Ensure compliance with Form of Separation requirements.
- Select and size electrical components including ACBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, protection devices,
- and busbar systems.
- Perform basic electrical calculations (fault level, load calculation, cable sizing, busbar rating, thermal
- considerations).
- Ensure proper coordination and discrimination of protective devices.
- Incorporate control logic, interlocking schemes, and communication interfaces (Modbus, Profinet,
- etc.) where required.
- Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Support FAT procedures and technical documentation preparation.
- Provide technical support to Production during panel assembly and wiring.
- Liaise with suppliers for technical clarifications and component selection.
- Ensure all designs are compliant with IEC standards, client specifications, and internal quality
- procedures.
- Maintain structured and organized project documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Additional training in power systems or switchgear design is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of IEC standards applicable to switchgear (e.g., IEC 61439)
- Knowledge of Form of Separation and internal segregation requirements.
- Understanding of electrical protection principles and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with MCCs, Package Substations, RPPS systems, and custom LV assemblies.
- Understanding of industry best practices in panel design and safety compliance.
- Relevant experience (3-5 Years) in electrical design within the switchgear or power distribution industry.
- Proficiency in EPLAN (advantageous) or equivalent electrical CAD software.
- Ability to create detailed electrical schematics from specifications.
- Ability to produce and review General Arrangement drawings.
- Strong technical interpretation skills for specifications and tender documents.
- Good understanding of electrical component selection and integration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and structured engineering approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
