
Manufacturing Process Technician (Weekend Shift) Fri, Sat & Sun 3x12 hr shift

- Assist engineers to develop production processes and ongoing process improvements.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing processes as required.
- Minimise Manufacturing Downtime by been proactive in terms of Preventative Maintenance of Tooling/Mandrels and Moulds used in the Manufacturing Process.
- Ensuring all Tooling and equipment is available and in calibration for Shift of Responsibility, 100 % availability of tools based on Manufacturing schedules.
- Work Closely with Planning and Shift team leader to minimise Down time on shift of Responsibility.
- Ensure that work instructions, etc are prepared as per Repligen Quality System.
- Provide Technical input and support for the investigation and resolution of customer complaints .
- Ensure that all work is carried out according to Company procedures, and that a high level of productivity and quality is achieved and maintained.
- Responsible for the setup and support of New production equipment & Tooling.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering to develop jigs, fixtures and tooling to improve production efficiencies.
- Ensure the efficient transfer of prototype and pilot Products/ Tooling to full production status and support these product lines on an on-going basis.
- Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
- Monitor and check the product quality and identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it.
- Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to make sure the machine or process never breaks down.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process or apply six sigma to reduce output variation.
- Follow strict internal protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Ensure strict compliance with all plant health and safety policies, including detailed incident and accident reporting.
- Other duties may be assigned on discretionary basis as required by new developments or changes to the role
- Formal Production/Engineering/Science qualification preferably and/or relevant manufacturing experience (medical devices, plastics, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years experience in similar Position or Role as Mfg/Process Technician.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Knowledge of medical device quality standards/practises or similar regulated industry would be an advantage.
- Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft® Office.
- Must be a good team player who is capable of working well to tight deadlines.
- High degree of self-motivation.
