We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford:The Longford facility plays a key role in helping Abbott to meet the increasing global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid, and cardiovascular diseases.Longford is based in the midlands of Ireland surrounded by water with the River Shannon, Lough Ree and the Royal Canal. It has a vibrant collection of communities with a rich historical background. The County has plenty to offer to both visitors and citizens in sport, culture, literature, amenities, festivals, events, retail and dining.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?The Site Controller serves as the financial leader of the site, in the establishment of business goals; strategies; priorities and tactics; as well as; assessing the resources and funding required to meet commitments. You will provide guidance in setting strategic direction and designing business plans to achieve the long-term mission of the plant. Through close partnership with the business, your role will ensure financial and business commitments are delivered.Main Responsibilities:The Site Controller is responsible for the financial leadership in a plant

The position’s functional responsibilities influence Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Materials Management through budget decisions, financial training, financial recommendations and general business guidance.In conjunction with the Site Director, sets appropriate financial direction ensuring the proper reflection of financials results and forecasts.Prepare and co-ordinate Plan, Long range plan (LRP/OEM/AGS), and rolling Latest Best Estimate (rLBE) data for submission to the Global Operations group. Responsible for reporting month end variance against Plan and rolling LBE (rLBE). Maintain and issue standard cost data.Prepares annual cost standards for Core Diagnostics products at the plant, including existing and new products.Ensure adequate financial and system controls are established and maintained consistent with Abbott policies and procedures as well as generally accepted accounting principles and controls that safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of the financial accounts.Promote and maintain compliance with Abbott policies and procedures and external requirements.Provide all financial planning, analysis and accounting to achieve strategic and day-to-day business objectives.Control of the applicable financial applications of the Site ERP system, financial applications and transaction processing functions to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial-related information including compliance with Corporate and Division Policies and Procedures.Position has direct and indirect staff reports and is responsible for day to day managing their staff. Further, financial staff development, including coaching and counseling, and participation in short and long-range talent development planning and execution of strategic initiatives.
