Salary is DOE: €35,000 - €40,000Reporting to the Financial Controller you will work as part of a large team, supporting the senior leadership team with financial reporting, month end close activities, budgeting & forecasting etc, enabling key strategic decision making within the business . This role provides ample opportunity for someone to gain all relevant accounting experience to coincide with professional exams and development.Core Exposures:
  • Preparation of month end journals entries and prepayments as part of the month-end close process
  • Generating accruals for management accounts using the expense management system
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of multi-currency bank accounts
  • Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring consistency with the General Ledger and accurate
  • Responsible for depreciation calculations across divisions
  • Support external audit activities by preparing documentation, responding to queries, and collaborating with auditors to ensure timely completion
  • Provide financial insights and support to leadership teams, enabling effective budgeting and cost control
  • Prepare overhead analysis and monthly reports for department heads, including detailed travel and expense spend reviews
  • Support in identifying trends, variances & opportunities for cost optimisation through data analysis
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects aimed at improving financial processes, systems, and reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial practices with business objectives
Person Specification & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years accounting experience, experience within FMCG/ medium to large org is advantageous
  • Trainee/ Part Qualified Accountant studying or looking to progress with (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Knowledge of core accounting principles such as debits credits, reconciliations, journals etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change
  • Experience with excel and other ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with wider team and other departments
  • Inquisitive nature, eager to learn and grow, strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines
