Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. This work experience programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers that are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme. Eligibility for this programme will have to be verified by the Department as part of the application process. The eligible participant will receive full training in all aspects of the placement. There will be a mentor there to guide and coach the participant. IT Assistant duties may include • Assisting with technical support for hardware and software issues. • Supporting with the asset management system. • Using Information Technology on a daily basis e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and internet. • Maintaining high quality records in a thorough and organised manner. • Any other duties deemed appropriate This is a training and work experience opportunity, no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support the placement.Role Description The participant will receive training and mentoring in the following: Informal Training • Providing technical support for hardware and software issues • Accessing and maintaining the assets management system • Utilising and maintaining the IT query logging system • Customer Service • Building their familiarity with IT systems and networks. Formal Training QQI Level 5 minor in Work Experience or Customer Service or Reception and Frontline Office Skills or Spreadsheets.
