BGH is part of the Cork University Hospital Group (CUHG)The catchment area is geographically the largest in Ireland with a population of at least 60,000 which is conservatively estimated to double to 120,000 during the six summer months as a result of tourism and summer migration.BGH has been designated a Model 2R hospital, the only model of this kind at both regional and national level at this time.
