This is a training and work experience opportunity; therefore, no previous experience is necessary. The participant will be mentored by senior staff and will gain a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day operations of a professional salon. The role is designed for someone who may be interested in this area of work but is unsure if this is the correct career path for them. As a participant you will not be responsible for core salon operations rather you will assist and learn through the following tasks. The participant will be trained and mentored in the various different areas of the sector to include: • Client Care: Meeting and greeting of clients, client care and customer service skills • Front of House: Gain experience in the booking system, answering phone enquires and understanding retail product knowledge to assist with client's aftercare • Stylist Support: Observing and assisting senior stylists with equipment preparation and observing and assisting • Salon Standards: General upkeep of the salon, maintaining stock levels and ensuring equipment is cleaned, sterilised and available for stylists • Social media: Assist in capturing before and after content for our social media platforms to learn about salon marketing. Assisting with general administration dutiesRole Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
