The Workday Security Architecture team partners with development & engineering teams to protect Workday's application services, infrastructure, and data. We enable Workday’s Product and Technology teams to rapidly deploy secure software and Workday’s Agentic AI strategy!About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to bring additional experience and diverse skills to an established & impactful team. You will work closely with Workay’s development teams to integrate security best practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We need someone with advanced skills across a number of technologies & security domains to drive engagement with service teams and cross organisational initiatives. Responsibilities include:Embed secure-by-design and secure-by-default into technologies including supporting threat modeling activities across the Workday development communityCritically assessing the security of system architectures and suggesting improvements & controlsFostering a positive security attitude among development teams you partner withProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team membersContinuously stay abreast of security threats including AI specific threats, that may impact WorkdayAbout YouBasic Qualifications7+ years of experience in Application Security, Software Engineering, or Public Cloud Platform EngineeringProven ability to conduct security assessments using various methodologies such as code reviews, threat modeling, system analysis, etc.Experience with public cloud technologies, automation and cloud native applications, GCP and/or AWS preferred.Deep understanding of security concepts/methods/protocols in areas such as authentication, authorization, role based access control, encryption and penetration testingA desire to build lasting relationships and build bridges between security and development teamsOther QualificationsAbility to progress programs of work across various internal teamsPractical knowledge of enterprise application software development and developer workflows with skills in at least one modern application or system programming language e.g. Java, C++, C#, Scala, golang, Rust, pythonExcellent verbal & written communications skills.Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting security specific solutions including the automation of repeatable security tasks and controlsOur Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
