Overview
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of logistics operations within a well-structured environment. You’ll play a key role in managing an in-house fleet for Ireland distribution, supported by a small number of third-party hauliers, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant deliveries
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport routes across Ireland
- Manage the in-house fleet (4 drivers + 2 relief drivers) and coordinate third-party hauliers
- Optimise fleet utilisation while controlling transport costs
- Allocate work between own fleet and third-party hauliers as required
- Oversee all export and import shipping activities
- Maintain accurate logistics administration and records
- Ensure timely delivery and service level performance
- Conduct driver debriefs and maintain documentation
- Schedule fleet maintenance and complete weekly vehicle inspections
- Monitor and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure full compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) for pharmaceutical products
- Adhere to Food Safety and BRC standards
- Maintain compliance with all transport regulations (Road, Sea & Air)
- Follow company policies across Quality, EHS, and insurance requirements
- Experience in logistics coordination or transport planning
- SAP experience is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of dangerous goods handling (ADR awareness desirable)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Full driver’s licence required
