
Supervising Engineer - Civils

- Required to have 5+ years' construction management / supervision experience with a proven track record of carrying out construction management / supervision activities across the project lifecycle through to completion in high value road and / or infrastructure projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity to CBCIW.
- Experience in the supervision of construction of bridge and reinforced concrete structures
- Further demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following is desirable:
- Delivering engineering solutions and results in dynamic urban environments
- Ensuring works are compliant with the Works Requirements and Road Specifications
- Site supervision of contract works, including earthworks, drainage, bridge and building construction, preferably within a live urban environment
- Irish Building Regulations and Irish Planning Process
- CDM and Health and Safety and their application in the workplace
- Ecological and environmental aspects related to construction
- Documenting best practice construction project management policies and standards
- Delivering construction/asset delivery projects to time and within allocated budget
- Interpreting drawings and specifications necessary for completion of construction works
- An extensive knowledge of civil and structural engineering works

- Ability to manage multiple technical requirements and teams within a construction environment
- Fully proficient in the use of MS Office applications and other project tools and methodologies
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

- Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service delivery
- Ability to deal with and resolve unforeseen risks and issues
- Excellent stakeholder negotiation and management skills
- Strong team leadership skills with an ability to influence to drive effective design decision making

- Ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and deliver consistent service

- Ability to manage client expectations and deliver within agreed parameters and
- Ability to work in a challenging environment both on their own initiative and as part of a team.
- Required to have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or equivalent).
- Safepass accreditation is desirable.
- Chartered / Incorporated / Associate Engineer of a relevant professional body is desirable.
- Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works in Ireland is desirable.
