We are looking for a commercially minded and dynamic Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and strengthen our market position across our nursery operations. This is a trade-focused role, centred on building and managing relationships with landscapers, garden centres, wholesalers, contractors, developers, municipalities, and other institutional buyers.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding our customer base, and ensuring our products reach the right markets at the right time. Success in this role requires both proven sales expertise and a strong understanding of the nursery trade sector, where credibility and customer relationships are paramount.Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Manage existing client accounts while actively identifying and developing new trade opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and agreements to maximise profitability.
- Provide accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and market analysis to management.
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships with trade clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to deepen engagement and secure repeat business.
- Represent the nursery at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to align sales with plant availability, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate customer demand and market trends to inform production planning.
- Ensure a seamless order-to-delivery process that meets customer expectations.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed performance goals.
- Foster a customer-focused, results-driven sales culture.
Essential
- Proven track record in trade sales within horticulture, agriculture, landscaping, or a related commercial sector.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to align sales activity to production capacity and timelines.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field.
- Existing network of trade contacts within Ireland and/or Europe.
- Good understanding of nursery products, plant varieties, and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, MS Office, and digital sales tools.
