- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the site’s safety management system.
- Support, advise, and provide technical expertise to managers to ensure legislative compliance and enhance health and safety performance across the business.
- Conduct and attend regular meetings with the site leadership team, managers, and supervisors.
- Perform risk assessments and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support and implement ArraTipp’s leading indicator programme, including reporting good saves, completing safety audits and inspections, and conducting safety conversations.
- Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported, recorded, and thoroughly investigated.
- Review, develop, and implement health and safety procedures, policies, work instructions, checklists, and other documentation as required.
- Identify training needs and support the management and maintenance of training records.
- Assist in the design and development of training plans and programmes.
- Deliver health and safety inductions and other training as required.
- Liaise and coordinate with external consultants and relevant stakeholders.
- Coach and support employees in adopting positive health and safety behaviours and practices.
- Coordinate and support emergency preparedness activities, including emergency plans and fire drills.
- Support the Contractor Management System to ensure compliance and safe working practices.
- Assist in the preparation of health and safety reports for the business.
- Monitor, track, and report on key health and safety metrics.
- Attend monthly safety committee meetings and record accurate minutes for each division.
- Coordinate and manage the ordering of health and safety materials, including signage, PPE, first aid supplies, and spill response equipment.
- Carry out any other duties as required in line with business needs.
- Relevant third level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns where required.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with online management systems is desirable.
- Ability to work on own initiative with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organised, motivated, and results-driven.
- Train the Trainer, Manual Handling, or other instructor qualifications are desirable but not essential.
