WaterfordHartley People Recruitment is seeking a Press Brake Operator on behalf of our client, a precision engineering contract manufacturer serving global blue-chip OEMs in the Semiconductor and Medical Equipment sectors, along with a range of other leading industrial clients.Operating to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 standards, the company is known for its strong customer focus and high-quality output in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive team in a role requiring strong technical and quality assurance capabilities in press brake operation and sheet metal fabrication.Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, program, and operate press brake machinery for accurate bending and forming of components.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure precise output.
- Align and measure materials using hand tools and digital instruments to tight tolerances.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections, verifying compliance with job specifications.
- Conduct basic maintenance of press brake equipment including lubrication and tool checks.
- Record setup parameters, tooling usage, and traceability logs for production runs.
- Follow all health, safety, and quality control procedures in line with certified medical device manufacturing standards.
- At least 1 year of Hands-on experience operating press brake machinery, ideally CNC, in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
- Proven ability to interpret 3D engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong focus on precision and attention to detail, working to extremely tight tolerances.
- Confident using digital and manual precision measuring tools.
- Awareness of health and safety protocols in production settings.
- Experience in small-batch, high-precision manufacturing—particularly for medical or semiconductor clients—is a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 quality systems.
- Understanding of metal material properties.
- Exposure to CNC programming or offline press brake software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Quality-driven with a methodical, accurate approach.
