Its portfolio, rooted in heritage and provenance, embodies Pernod Ricard’s commitment to excellence from Premium to Ultra‑Prestige, delivering some of the world’s most celebrated and enduring spirits and champagnes.Role PurposeThe Engineering Team Lead is responsible for driving engineering best practice, asset care, and equipment reliability at the Fox & Geese bottling site. Working through both direct and indirect teams, the role focuses on eliminating preventable losses, embedding Asset Care principles, and supporting safe, efficient daily operations.As a member of the local area management team, the role contributes to continuous improvement, risk management, and long‑term asset performance within a regulated FMCG environment.Key AccountabilitiesSafety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion and embed a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality legislation, standards, and site procedures.
- Ensure all team members are competent to operate equipment safely, including risk assessment competence in line with maintenance and regulatory standard.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and audits, defining and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Support investigations into quality issues and implement engineering preventative and corrective actions as required.
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop Engineering Maintenance Teams, Team Leaders and Multi‑Skilled Technicians.
- Build effective working relationships with production, quality, and site stakeholders, communicating clearly at all levels.
- Support a high‑performance, collaborative team culture aligned to site objectives.
- Lead the development and deployment of Asset Care and Autonomous Maintenance within the bottling and packaging area.
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to define and deliver the Asset Care Continuous Improvement strategy.
- Drive improved performance through regular review and analysis of KPIs and equipment performance data.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures to prevent recurrence and improve long‑term reliability.
- Define and execute area maintenance plans aligned with production demand, including management of external contractors where required.
- Support daily operations through attendance at key meetings and rapid response to escalated breakdowns.
- Identify CAPEX needs for equipment replacement and upgrades, contributing to User Requirement Briefs (URBs) and CAPEX governance processes.
- Ensure engineering procedures, standards, and documentation remain up to date and understood.
- Proven experience leading or supervising engineering or maintenance teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong working knowledge of asset care, reliability engineering, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated experience of Root Cause Analysis and problem‑solving in an operational setting.
- Experience working in safety‑critical or regulated environments with strong compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across functions.
- Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related discipline).
- Experience in food, beverage, packaging, or bottling operations.
- Exposure to Autonomous Maintenance and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience contributing to CAPEX projects and upgrade initiatives.
- Knowledge of audit processes (internal and external) within manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and KPI reporting.
