Installing and maintaining advanced-technology gas turbines, steam turbines, hydro turbines, boilers, HRSGs, compressors and other rotating equipment as well as power grid stabilisation, our complex engineering solutions have helped fuel the power generation industry on a global scale.We are seeking an experienced Substation Package Manager for the construction of a new 110 kV AIS Substation as part of a larger project development on a new-build project in Platin, County Meath.The role is to manage the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 110 kV AIS substation as part of a larger new build project contributing to successful delivery within budget and time constraints.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a concept for the delivery of the 110 kV AIS substation
  • Develop a scope of works and review the specification for the design and build package
  • Manage the procurement process of the contractor including responding to TQs and negotiation of commercial terms and conditions
  • Manage the execution of the design and build contract
  • Manage the stakeholder interface including the customer, the network and the TSO.
  • Monitor the progress of the project
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure accurate cost tracking for the project.
  • Identify and manage cost risks, including contingencies for unforeseen site conditions.
  • Certify progress claims of contractors
  • Prepare and review variations and negotiate final accounts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Stay informed on Irish construction regulations, industry standards, and market trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of the delivery of HV Substations in Ireland.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly for earthworks and structural costs.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Irish construction laws and environmental considerations.
