You will ensure accurate and timely VAT filings, provide technical VAT advice, and support clients in navigating current and future complex VAT regulations across Ireland and the EU.This fast-growing business offers excellent career progression opportunities for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end VAT compliance for a large portfolio of global corporate clients across various sectors, ensuring high quality client services.
  • Advise clients on VAT implications of complex transactions, restructures, and cross-border activities.
  • Support clients during VAT audits and investigations, liaising directly with Revenue and other tax authorities.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams, supporting them in assessing and implementing resulting changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead innovative business development initiatives with clients, working with them to drive process improvements and efficiencies across their VAT operations.
  • Take a lead role in advancing VAT compliance procedures, adopting automation technologies to further drive efficiency and improve client service experience.
  • Manage and lead the VAT team, including the training and mentoring of junior staff.
Candidate Profile
  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
  • Professional Qualification: CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3- 5 years' experience in VAT compliance, ideally within a professional services firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish and EU VAT legislation.
  • Proven experience managing a large VAT compliance portfolio and handling complex VAT issues.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
Skills:
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, ability to manage competing client deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and avoiding errors and risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in VAT software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or firm-specific platforms) is an advantage.
