- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company procedures
- Develop, review, and update risk assessments and method statements to identify and mitigate hazards
- Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to site personnel and subcontractors
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports with corrective actions
- Ensure all safety signage, PPE, and emergency procedures are in place and adhered to
- Collaborate with project teams to implement and monitor Construction Health & Safety Plans
- Enforce compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant legislation
- Support environmental initiatives, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability measures
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including inspections, permits, incident logs, and audit reports
- Act as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities during site inspections
- Provide proactive advice on improving safety performance and mitigating risk
- Manage and support junior EHS team members, including graduates and trainees
- Oversee EHS activities across multiple sites and manage workload effectively
- Support digital safety systems and provide training to site teams
- Assist with ISO audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Participate in senior management meetings and client-facing discussions
- Contribute to sustainability and ESG initiatives, including tenders and pre-qualifications
- Undertake additional training such as Working at Heights and Fire Awareness instruction
- Level 8 qualification or higher in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in an EHS role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, risk assessment, and hazard identification
- Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and safety performance reporting
- Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is advantageous
