- Possess a minimum of a Level 7 NFQ degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Accumulate 2 or more years of experience in engineering, design, or manufacturing, preferably with a focus on electrical proficiency.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a keen interest in continuous improvement.
- Showcase proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and be adept at using 2-D electrical and mechanical CAD software, including ePlan Electric P8/Pro Panel, AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD Inventor.
- Exhibit the capability to interact effectively with peers and management, and willingness to travel nationally and internationally-a significant advantage.
- Display expertise in applying drafting standards, symbols, and terminology commonly used in electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Occasionally, be required to inspect in-process work with manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and machine controllers.
- Develop and update electrical drawings, ensuring effective communication of changes to the Systems Engineering team
- Generate comprehensive and accurate electrical drawings, Bills of Materials (BoM), and panel layouts for both UIG and customer use.
- Collaborate with the electrical design team to review specifications and drawings, drawing on experiences from similar past projects.
- Create and validate the BoM for projects, identifying long lead time items, and ensuring timely release of drawings and documentation to prevent project delays.
- Scrutinize and verify electrical drawing packages before submission and release.
- Provide coordination and documentation support for internal UIG teams, contributing to issue resolution and design enhancement.
- Generate engineering drawings from sketches, verbal descriptions, specifications, and technical data.
- Actively contribute to improving operations, reducing turnaround times, and streamlining work processes while fostering a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
- Engage in effective oral communication in the English language with engineers, drafters, and manufacturing personnel.
- Take ownership of program-level design and support efforts, ensuring adherence to overall engineering schedules and promptly flagging potential risks.
