There is a growing R&D operation being developed here due to the introduction of three new products. An opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join this dynamic R&D team developing novel immunoassays.You will support studies to design and screen novel biologics for immunoassay development. Analysing data from multiple experiments, you will formulate conclusions, and determine future experiments. You should have expertise in molecular biology and protein chemistry techniques for protein expression and protein expression and assay development.The PositionResponsibilities of the Postdoctoral Research Associate include:Apply advanced scientific knowledge to projects. Conceive/design/plan/co-ordinate advanced independent and collaborative studies required for immunoassay development.Literature review and scientific landscape analysis to support innovative technology and product design.Establish high throughput techniques for biologics screening.Optimise assay conditions, improve product design and related processes and procedures and troubleshoot technical issues.Prototype testing with clinical specimens and biospecimen experience is a must.Develop and maintain internal and external customer contacts to maintain technical knowledge as required to accomplish objectives.Prioritise studies and activities to align with project goals and be responsible for timely project completion.Understand and consistently follow documented procedures. Actively participate in routine maintenance and lab safety.Competent in making difficult technical decisions regarding priorities among projects/programs while ensuring the buy-in of teams and leaders.Provide technical and scientific leadership to other team members including assisting in study design. Provide training/coaching to lower-level scientists.Develop relationships with third-level institutions, engineering test labs, key suppliers and appropriate consulting work providers.Collaborate closely with functional areas such as Quality, Design Assurance, Manufacturing and Regulatory to support compliant product design and document control, external audits and certification activities.The Person5+ years of assay development and biologics essential with a strong Molecular and Biochemical background.Skill in optimising assay design and conditions, including DOE optimisation where appropriate.Experience working with patient samples and sample management procedures.Expertise in the design and optimisation of serological diagnostic tests is a plus.Willing to take on new and challenging assignments and to implement new ideas or alternative solutions.Experience in antibody development and biologics screening assays would be an advantage.Strong analytical and quantitative skills.To discover more about this opportunity, apply now or contact Melissa Caramante in HRM Search Partners at +353 87 6923026 for a confidential discussion.
