The successful candidate will:Hold a recognised third level qualification in Occupational Therapy.Be registered, or eligible for registration, with CORU ( Occupational Therapists Registration Board).Have a minimum of two years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist.Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and report writing skills.Be proficient in maintaining accurate clinical records in both electronic and hard copy formats.Have a strong interest in working with individuals presenting with ASD and Intellectual Disability.Be capable of assessing needs, developing treatment plans and supporting the implementation of interventions.Demonstrate knowledge of current Occupational Therapy practices within social care or community settings.Be confident in advising care staff and families on therapy programmes, adaptive strategies and assistive equipment.Be motivated to maintain high clinical standards and professional practice.All staff are required to undergo Garda Vetting in line with organisational policies.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesDeliver a high- quality Occupational Therapy service in line with best practice standards.Carry out comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.Implement and oversee therapeutic interventions to support service users’ functional independence.Conduct risk assessments relating to therapeutic environments and treatment plans.Evaluate therapy outcomes and adjust interventions as required.Contribute to Assessment of Need ( AON) processes, including functional, sensory and daily living assessments.Assess home and community environments and recommend modifications where appropriate.Provide guidance on adaptive equipment to support daily living, mobility and sleep routines.Team & Service DevelopmentWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, care staff and families.Provide guidance and professional advice to front- line staff regarding Occupational Therapy supports.Support and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants where applicable.Participate in professional meetings, case conferences, reviews and team meetings.Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, including clinical audits.Administration & ReportingMaintain accurate clinical documentation in line with governance and GDPR requirements.Prepare professional reports outlining assessment findings, therapy plans and progress updates.Provide regular activity reports outlining assessments completed, therapy delivered and service outcomes.
