Job Title: IT Project ManagerDepartment: ITReports to: Head of IT ProgramsDate: 2026Overall Purpose of Job:The Mission of Beacon Hospital is to provide quality patient care in an environment that is respectful, compassionate and caring.We are seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the delivery, optimisation and adoption of IT systems across the hospital. This role is responsible for managing projects that support digital transformation and ensuring that systems are effectively implemented and embedded into hospital workflows.The role will work closely with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders, coordinating subject matter expertise where required rather than relying on deep clinical knowledge within the role itself.The successful candidate will have strong project management experience, a solid understanding of hospital environments and workflows and the ability to drive delivery across multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
  • Lead the delivery of IT projects including system implementations, upgrades and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between clinical, technical and administrative stakeholders ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into structured project deliverables working with clinical subject matter experts to validate workflows and requirements.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, issues and dependencies ensuring delivery to agreed scope, time and quality standards.
  • Coordinate system design, configuration, testing and go live activities with relevant SMEs, vendors and internal teams.
  • Facilitate workflow analysis sessions with clinical and operational teams to support system adoption and process improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement, governance and reporting including participation in working groups and steering committees.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of training, communication and change management activities to support successful system adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and external regulatory requirements including GDPR, HIQA, JCI and NIS2 in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Provide structured project reporting including status updates, risk tracking and post implementation reviews.
Qualifications
  • Degree or recognised qualification in healthcare, IT or a related field
  • Project management training or certification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, Lean) desirable
Experience
  • Strong experience in project management preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Experience delivering IT or digital transformation projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with clinical systems such as EHRs or patient administration systems desirable but not essential.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams including clinical, operational and technical stakeholders.
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge
  • Good understanding of hospital operations and workflows.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIQA, JCI and NIS2 desirable.
  • Strong project management skills including planning, risk management and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to structure and manage workstreams rather than personally owning clinical content.
