Training is a mandatory part of this role to ensure the participant receives a Stage 1 Early Learning and Care (equivalent to the QQI Level 5 Childcare training major award), so a good understanding of conversational English and written English is a requirement. The aim of this programme is to provide you with the opportunity of acquiring knowledge in the area of childcare whilst gaining experience working in a childcare setting. Duties include assisting the childcare leader on a daily basis in the general running of the facility, assisting with daily activities, meeting the needs of the children in your care, and organising and supervising play, arts & crafts, etc. You will achieve a Level 5 QQI Childcare qualification which will enable you to obtain employment in childcare. Candidates must be prepared to dedicate themselves to classes and study. Genuine interest in working with children, flexibility, and a good level of English is required. Based in Portarlington.
