Are you a Construction Management student looking to kick start your career with dynamic and progressive engineering company?Rockwell are currently recruiting a Graduate Construction Manager to join our team on a permanent & full-time basis.The initial location for this position will be Rockwell's headquarters, based in Cork City, and willingness and ability to travel within Ireland is required for this position.About the RoleReporting to the Project Manager and Construction Manager, the Graduate Construction Manager will work on our key projects and assist in carrying the projects through to successful completion.Key duties of the role include, but are not restricted to:Construction Management:- Shadow experienced construction managers to gain insight into project planning, scheduling, and execution.- Assist in coordinating project activities, including scheduling subcontractors, ordering materials, and monitoring progress.- Participate in site visits to observe construction activities, quality control measures, and safety protocols.Problem-solving:- Analyse and troubleshoot engineering issues, proposing, and implementing solutions under the guidance of more experienced team members.- Support the resolution of construction-related issues and conflicts as they arise.Quality Assurance:- Contribute to quality control processes.Compliance and Standards:- Collaborate with senior engineers to address compliance-related considerations.Client Interaction:- Support communication with clients by providing updates on project progress and addressing client inquiries under the guidance of senior team members.- Develop effective communication skills to interact with clients professionally.Health and Safety:- Adhere to health and safety guidelines in the workplace and contribute to creating a safe engineering environment.Estimation:- Assist in basic quantity surveying and estimating duties, including material take-offs, cost analysis, and budget tracking.About YouThe ideal candidate will be organised and efficient, pay strong attention to detail and be a good communicator.You will:- Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification.- Have a strong interest in pursuing a career in construction management within the mechanical engineering industry.- Be comfortable in your use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports.- Be conscientious, have excellent attention to detail and an ability to multitask.- Have a positive attitude with a passion to learn & succeed, an energetic approach and an ability to take accountability.- The ability to contribute comfortably as part of a team.Why join Rockwell?- Professional development opportunities.- Onsite parking.- Pension support.- Bike to work scheme.- Wellbeing programme.- Competitive salary.- Hands-on training and development.See more about us here: www.rockwell.ie
