As a Programme Assistant you will also be expected to support the planning and delivery of a range of programmes, projects and individualised supports to service users engaging in programmes within the limits of the Association's Resource and Outreach Service standards. You will be required to undertake and ensure the execution of such other tasks/duties as may be deemed necessary to the successful implementation of the programme Liaise with: Close liaison is required with the Service Co-ordinator, C.E. Supervisor, colleagues, volunteers and members of Resource and Outreach Service for the successful implementation of this position. Main Duties and Responsibilities (Training will be provided) Support the development and implementation of resource and outreach programmes as set by the Service Co-ordinator in line with the Annual Service Plan To support individual service users in line with the Associations Person Centred Approach Accompany and support participants on annual holidays, outings, and in using community social and recreational facilities as required. Actively ensure that standards and practices regarding health and safety are fully adhered to in all areas of Resource and Outreach Service. Record and report any hazards or accidents to the Centre Manager/Service Co-ordinator. Keep relevant and up-to-date IWA record systems. Assist service users in all aspects of personal care and daily living as identified by the service user in line with the Associations standards. Ensuring that your work and interaction with others is such that it promotes an enhances the independence of the service users. Carry out any other duties and / or responsibilities which may be assigned to you from time to time Main Tasks (post manual handling training) all tasks per iwa policy. This list is not exhaustive: Assist service users with personal care (Toileting & Hygiene) as per moving and handling training Safely clamp wheel chairs to the bus floor using approved restraints. This will involve kneeling/flexibility to reach appropriate tie points as per moving and handling & Clamping training Push/manoeuvre wheelchairs to assist service users as required as per moving and handling training Safely move programme supplies as required from storage to activity area and return same at close of services as per moving & handling training Assist with programme delivery by supporting the service user as required as per moving & handling training Assist with food service / clean up as required Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate will have The ability to work as part of a team Willingness to engage in training.
