- Create data hall layout plans and perform test fits to validate server capacity planning, redundancy, and failover requirements.
- Participate in testing and commissioning discussions to define and verify required tests that confirm design intent, performance, and reliability.
- Support the DC Engineering and FM teams as a subject matter expert, identifying design limitations, assessing risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Conduct periodic audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness, practicality, and performance of designs in operational data centers.
- Act as an ambassador for data center infrastructure design, maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and partners, and continuously innovate MEP solutions to meet future business needs.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data center power and cooling system design, including load modeling, capacity calculations, and system sizing.
- Strong understanding of power and cooling redundancy architectures and their implementation (e.g., 2N, N+1 distributed redundancy), with working knowledge of Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and ASHRAE standards.
- Experience designing cooling systems with redundancy and implementing concurrent maintainability strategies (e.g., N+1, N+2).
- Proven experience leading or influencing engineering, architectural, construction, and commissioning teams through the full data center lifecycle, including Conceptual, 30%, 60%, and 90% design phases, data hall fit-outs, and Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning.
- Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience with mission-critical infrastructure, including generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS systems, and electrical sub-distribution systems.
