Are you a Design Engineer looking to join a dynamic and progressive engineering company?Rockwell are currently recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a permanent & full-time basis. The initial location for this position will be Rockwell’s headquarters in Cork City.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • You will be working on projects in the Mission Critical, Pharma, Med Tech and Manufacturing sectors.
  • Working closely with tenders, bids, temporary works, site and project teams in the design and production of 2D, 3D BIM Models.
  • Production and management of P&IDs, AF&IDs, Calculations and Equipment Schedules.
  • Contribute to the design development, coordination of Building Services layouts, management of drawing registers and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary client representatives, project managers, site supervisors, and our internal design team. Additionally, you’ll report directly to the Engineering Design Manager.
  • Ensure the Modelling meets the required standards as set out in the BEP documentation.
  • Initial project walkdowns with senior engineers and assist them in putting design proposals together.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience:
  • Bachelor or Honours Degree (Level 7/8) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proficient in the use of any of the following BIM software packages is a benefit (Revit MEP, BIM 360, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Navisworks)
  • 3-4 years minimum experience working within a design team environment.
  • Ability to work in a vibrant multi-discipline collaborative design environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with reviewing existing systems and proposing improvements.
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter
  • Membership of Engineers Ireland/ASHRAE or similar is encouraged.
