Senior Instructor, Galway

• Write, plan, implement and evaluate programmes/learning modules in a variety of areas including, arts, crafts, social skills, woodwork, cookery, horticulture, and independent living skills depending on service users’ preferences and learning ability.
• Support the Day Services manager and Basic Instructors on delivery of modules/courses as required. These courses will include specific skills as well as social development, personal care, and community integration.
• Ensure that service users individual plans are in line with New Directions Interim standards.
• Act as Person in Charge in the absence of the Manager of Adult Day Services, as directed.

• Level 8 qualification in Teaching / Nursing / Applied Social Studies / Social Care / Psychology / Behaviour Analysis.

• Level 7 relevant studies for role and minimum 4 years’ experience working with people with intellectual disabilities including autism.
• Previous experience working with people with an intellectual disability, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
• An ability to instruct service users in all programmes offered at Adult Day Centres.
• Full current driving license.

• Experience in developing QQI standard or similar day modules, recording evidence of goals and ambitions.
• Knowledge of Person Centered planning and managing behaviours that challenge.
